Here’s a truth of mine…I don’t like blogging. I’ve always felt this need to say profound things and – the truth is – I’m a photographer for a reason. I am a story-teller that crafts in pictures, not pen. I have incredible couples with beautiful stories and beautiful souls. Maybe I just need to get back to letting the photographs speak their thousands of words.
I absolutely love Jen and Nick. Their hearts, their families, and their joy is a blessing to witness. This amazing couple invited me to New Jersey to celebrate with them and document this beautiful part of their journey. As always, I only hope I have done the joy present that day justice. Ceremony was at Our Lady of Sorrows in South Orange. The reception *slash* killer dance party afterwards was at The Park Savoy. Enjoy.
I love this moment between the groom and his father as he helps Nick get ready. Preparation shots are often some of my favorites because they are just so full of anticipation and really sweet family moments.
I love the sentimentality of a bride or groom getting ready in their childhood home. I imagine him or her staring out this very window as a small child, and now to create this beautiful black and white portrait in the same spot is just chock full of meaning, moments, and really amazing memories that I got to add to. Quite an honor.
I love the bridesmaids beautiful teal blue gowns. Even more than that, I love the fact that I said “hey come stand in this field with me and watch for the mushy parts”, and they all obliged me by even having fun while they did it. Girls after my own heart.
Our Lady of Sorrows was the most beautiful church cathedral for a traditional wedding ceremony. The amazing old East Coast architecture in the northeast is tough to compete with anywhere else in the States. Yes New Jersey, you and I can do this anytime. Anytime at all.
Iconic black and white portrait of the bride walking down the aisle with her father and that beautiful cathedral veil. Love it.
“Love and a cough cannot be hid. Not a small cough. Not a small love.” This soft moment between Nick and Jen just makes that quote run over and over in my head.
The Park Savoy simply has the most beautiful estate grounds. I mean talk about a breathtaking wedding backdrop. The overcast autumn skies just make for the loveliest, soft light and REALLY makes the greens pop.
