I was honored a few months back to be asked to photograph all the promo material for the Tour De Pier charity event in Manhattan Beach. Hundreds of spin bikes and riders, on the Strand in Manhattan…VERY cool to see! This weekend was the inaugural event, which raised over $330,000 for cancer! It’s so amazing to see a few peoples’ fervor and passion turn into so tangible a result, directly affecting change. Our shoot itself was definitely a bit outside of my normal routine (dragging a whole bunch of spin bikes onto the sand at 6 in the morning in a couple days after Christmas…and what, no BRIDE?!!) but it was so fun to think in new creative ways and — obviously and most importantly — to give back. So of course I couldn’t resist coming this weekend to take some fun photos of the actual event. So many wonderful volunteers and sponsors donated their hard work, time, and money to make the day happen, and make it FUN!
AND, as a thank you for all that came out to support and participate, I am going to be giving away a free portrait session next Friday! All you have to do is “like” us on Facebook here and leave a comment to enter! Also, if you would like to see more images from the day, they are available here and available for free download for 30 days. My gift. Enjoy!
Yeah, this wasn’t completely a wedding photographer thing to do. Shoe shot!
Again, many thanks to all who helped make this day such a success!
